Michael & Ruth Ann

Mike and Ruth Ann first met on the dating site Eharmony in June 2019.  At the time, Ruth Ann was relocating to the Ann Arbor, Michigan area to be close to her family after completing graduate school at Western Michigan University, and Mike was living in his hometown in the Motor City of Detroit, Michigan. Mike made the first move by messaging Ruth Ann and commenting on her photo with a Michael Jackson impersonator and inquiring about her love for all things Marvel.  

For the next two months, they would video chat, developing their friendship by talking about their faith, Marvel/DC, anime, music, dreams, goals, and traveling. Although they enjoyed speaking with each other, they took their time developing their relationship and did not meet in person for the first time until August 2019.  Since then, they’ve been almost inseparable.

  
One of the mutual agreements they made early on in their relationship, was to take 100% responsibility for their individual happiness and not look to each other to change, as a requirement of each other’s happiness.  It’s been a habit that they’ve cultivated in their relationship and one which has allowed their relationship to thrive.    

On June 20, 2022, Mike and Ruth Ann will have dated for three years.
